the Last of the Dashkin

"I've always loved your work!"

date: December 18, 2009

I like the story behind the Brackenwood Series, each installment left me curious as to what will happen next. This episode intrigued me as it let me understand Bitey a whole lot more, and the ending left me at an exciting cliffhanger.

There is much to say about the quality of work here too, fluidity and detail of the animations and backgrounds. Appropriate music, very nice.

I am definitely looking forward to the next one.

The Last Gift

"I loved this!"

submission: The Last Gift
date: December 11, 2009

I loved the textures and brush strokes in the majority of this work. It helped the flash seem so seriously Christian/spiritual but... the twist caused me to burst out laughing. Nice job, playing with expectations.

(Not to say I'm really of the spiritual type...)

"Intense, but mostly enjoyable..."

I must second Pyrocius' statement on difficulty to distinguish the cursor...

Perhaps, the cursor(s) could be more solidly filled? (I mean the mouse cursor and/or the shooter cursor...)

I must say though, this is one of those few shooter games that got me interested. The imagery like Space Invaders in this was novel to me. The colors entranced me a bit too- a might bit distracting (and, well, intensive on the brain).

I like the musical loop you chose, it seems to fit the mood, in my opinion.

Obladi Oblada (Punk/ska Cover)

"Hey, I like The Beatles!"

I also dig your cover! It added something new and interesting to the original.

Though I couldn't necessarily say it surpasses them out right. (It just very hard to say something to that effect.)

Blarsa - One Night Stand

"Obscenely funny..."

date: May 2, 2009

Perhaps I've been hanging out with my friends too long... I thought this was hilarious.

(For some reason I'm thinking about a scene in Crank... yes- have sex on a high traffic sidewalk!... Erhm, never mind.)

I definitely also enjoyed the instrumental part- I second DJ-xTc.

Distant Memories (Tribute)

"Soothing and somber..."

date: April 19, 2009

I must second PolishMatt's review, I couldn't agree more. (Having a soft spot for instrumental work in general.)

I do so believe this composition is a befitting tribute to metal musicians- the mood is perfect. As well, this is a good change of pace- I really like the variety of your body of work!
