"I've always loved your work!"
I like the story behind the Brackenwood Series, each installment left me curious as to what will happen next. This episode intrigued me as it let me understand Bitey a whole lot more, and the ending left me at an exciting cliffhanger.
There is much to say about the quality of work here too, fluidity and detail of the animations and backgrounds. Appropriate music, very nice.
I am definitely looking forward to the next one.

I loved the textures and brush strokes in the majority of this work. It helped the flash seem so seriously Christian/spiritual but... the twist caused me to burst out laughing. Nice job, playing with expectations.
(Not to say I'm really of the spiritual type...)

I must second Pyrocius' statement on difficulty to distinguish the cursor...
Perhaps, the cursor(s) could be more solidly filled? (I mean the mouse cursor and/or the shooter cursor...)
I must say though, this is one of those few shooter games that got me interested. The imagery like Space Invaders in this was novel to me. The colors entranced me a bit too- a might bit distracting (and, well, intensive on the brain).
I like the musical loop you chose, it seems to fit the mood, in my opinion.

The various forms of art in this melded together well, in my opinion. The voice-acting was perfect for the prose and the stylized watercolor illustrations really fit well. The illustrations seemed like something between sophisticated and zany- as was the story.
It was also surreal and seemed anachronistic to me- the strangeness attracted me further; referencing things like YouTube when everything else in it made me think of an era like The Great Gatsby mixed with King Kong. Speaking of The Great Gatsby- the diction of this piece made it more so reminiscent to it- verbose and heavy use of aforementioned modifiers and adjectives.

Immense thanks for your flattering remarks! I'm very happy to have appealed to someone who's open to the diverse mix of styles, and your generous compliments are very much appreciated!
I hope to make more entertaining and engaging works in the future; in the meantime, if the mood strikes you, perhaps you might consider writing or illustrating a story for the Storybook Collab? http://www.newgrounds.com /bbs/topic/1003968
Cheers for your critique!

Though there are some tropes and whatnot...
I'm a sucker for plots like this- and I would love to see where you take it! The story has me very intrigued- the animation carries it well so far.

This was a strange viewing experience for me, to be honest. Primarily because of the serious undertones cloaked in humor- it made me laugh but also feel guilty. I've usually kept my interests in the news minimal and hardly pay attention to it- so this Darfur situation was kept rather vague to me (a bit of a cynic as it goes with the news.)
I am certainly glad to have been enlightened a bit on the matter though- albeit belated.
I do like both parts' animation. I guess the serious tones for what Megatron does at the end hit a an emotional nerve (not that that's a bad thing- just effective for your goal) in spite of the fact the whole presentation was meant to be satire.

I can't help but say I really like your take on the idea of hell (of course its a bureaucracy, makes perfect sense.) I think its well executed.
I dig the various references and especially the twist at the end.

To supplement: found that the most bothersome clickable being that games link on the bottom left... perhaps you could make it a bit smaller?
Though watching the carnage is fun, anyway. (I do like some of the special effects from certain achievements, too)

I have just completed reading the novel as homework for a Humanities class at my college. I really did like the book quite a bit! The nature of the class was to compare things like the literary, scientific, artistic, intellectual atmospheres of different time periods of Western history (Romanticism- Frankenstein.)
I admit that some of jabs at the book made me laugh (I especially thought the photo-manipulated portrait of his creature was pricelessly funny.)
The love letter, though your intention obvious, bugged me ever so slightly... definitely killed whatever seriousness that specific letter held within the book!
Author's Response:
oh good, a review on something more recent of mine. and an interesting review at that. i've gotten about three people who checked out my stuff since releasing In Utero and they all looked at my older and shittier submissions <_>
i read this book in my high school english 3 class, so you'll pardon me if i don't appreciate the book the same way one would appreciate The Stranger or The Fountainhead after taking an AP Lit course (which i did ;P). i like the book, too. i'm just poking fun at it by over-exaggerating the situations. this wouldn't be nearly as funny if i went into Frankenstein's emotions regarding creating his monster.
i thought the photo-manip of his monster was silly but i never really considered it to be the biggest point of the movie. it's nice knowing someone got more enjoyment out of it than i did, though, lawl. as for killing the seriousness with my letter scene...that's the point of parody. lmao. it's funny on its own, but it's only really funny after reading Frankenstein.
thanks for the interesting review. if i had more literature-based flashes on here, i'd ask for you to review them too, but i really don't get a chance to do many english projects in flash ;P

Befitting the original poem as well, Nina's lyrical rendition. When, I did see "Strange Fruit" I was thinking immediately when I read it before in an English class during high school. To say it was moving was an understatement.
I think that the dark shades and small animation reflects the stillness of death accurately. So, I think that was a good artistic choice.
